Norm — Terms of Use

Published at: norm.welab.love/terms Last updated: 1 July 2026 · Version: 1.2

Norm's a free, anonymous bot that helps you work out whether the thing you're worried about is actually pretty normal (spoiler: usually). Here's the deal, in plain terms.

1. What Norm is — and isn't

Norm is a sex-positive AI chatbot that normalizes and reflects. It is not therapy, not medical advice, not a diagnosis, and not a healthcare service. It doesn't treat anything and isn't a substitute for a doctor, therapist, or other professional.

Norm is here to normalize and reflect, not to diagnose or treat. This isn't therapy or medical advice.

2. Use it for what it's good for

Norm can get things wrong (so can people). Take what helps, leave the rest. You're responsible for what you do with anything Norm says — it's information and reflection, not instructions.

Take what helps, leave the rest.

3. If things feel heavy

Norm isn't a crisis service. If you're in distress or crisis, please reach someone you trust or a professional. Where Norm can, it will point you to crisis resources appropriate to your region, but it is not a substitute for emergency help.

And if things feel heavy, or you're in crisis, please reach out to someone you trust or a professional.

4. You have to be 18

Norm is for adults. By using Norm you confirm you are 18 or older. If you're under 18, Norm will point you to resources made for your age instead. This is also where you agree to the limited storage of your conversation described in the Privacy Policy.

5. Your content, and rights in it

You keep your rights in what you type. You grant us only the limited permission needed to process your messages to run Norm and, where you've agreed, to store and review them as described in the Privacy Policy. We don't claim ownership of what you type or of how you use Norm's replies. Norm's replies are automatically generated text, provided for information and reflection — they aren't professional advice and aren't owned guidance you need a licence to use.

6. Acceptable use

Use Norm for its purpose. Don't try to break, abuse, overload, reverse-engineer, or extract the system, don't use it to harm others, and don't attempt to make it produce content it's designed not to produce. We may limit, suspend, or block access that abuses or attacks the service, where necessary to protect it and the people using it.

7. No warranty

Norm is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We don't warrant that Norm will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that anything it says is accurate, complete, or suitable for your situation.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Noy Carmel and WeLab will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of or reliance on Norm.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law. In particular, we do not exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, for gross negligence or wilful misconduct, or for any right you have under mandatory EU or Spanish consumer-protection law.

9. Third-party services

Some optional features rely on third parties: booking a consult goes through our scheduling service (Cal.eu), and the newsletter is sent by our email provider. When you use those features, the relevant provider processes your data to deliver them, under its own terms and our data-processing agreement with it. The Privacy Policy explains what is shared and where.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Spain. Mandatory consumer-protection rights you have under the law of your country of residence are not affected.

11. Changes

We date and version this page and note material changes. We may also change, suspend, or discontinue Norm — or any part of it — at any time; it's a free service and sometimes free services move. Continuing to use Norm after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

12. Severability and whole agreement

These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between you and us about Norm. If any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force.
